A support group for mothers of chronically ill children

We’re all familiar with the story of the mother whose child is trapped beneath a car. And somehow, in the midst of the tragedy, she finds the super human strength to lift the car to save her child. There is an assumed ending to this story, that she and her child simply go back to living their lives. But we all know there is no going back to who they were before the event. They are forever changed by the experience.

I believe the mother of the chronically ill child is that mother who lifts the car. And I believe she does it over and over again. I believe she wakes up every day, musters the strength, and asks the universe “Where is the car today?”
